Facial Implants New Orleans
You may be bothered by the effects of age and gravity on your face, or you may have always wanted more defined facial features. As we age, our muscles and skin slowly begin to droop. We lose facial fat over time, and our cheeks or jawline sag. This can make you look older than you feel. Sometimes Dr. Moses will recommend fat grafting to replace volume in your face.
Alternatively, you may simply want to enhance your cheek or chin shape to have a more proportional facial contour. Dr. Moses can help you have a more pronounced, contoured, and attractive face through chin, cheek, or jaw implants. Facial implant procedures are often combined with other facial surgeries. Together, you and Dr. Moses will decide which procedures you want and what works with your priorities.

What is facial implant surgery like?
For your safety and comfort, facial implant surgery can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia at our outpatient surgical center at Hedgewood. Dr. Moses makes a hidden (or easily concealable) incision, depending upon what type of implants you need.
For cheek augmentation, Dr. Moses makes an incision inside your upper lip. For chin enlargement, he makes an incision in your mouth or under your chin. For jaw enhancement, he makes the incision inside your mouth. If you are undergoing an additional facial procedure at the same time that requires incisions, Dr. Moses will make every effort to use those same incisions to place your implants. We use a wide variety styles and sizes of facial implants; Dr. Moses will discuss the choices with you and show you why he recommends the specific implants for you.
How long is recovery after facial implant surgery?
Depending on the specifics of your surgery, your personal pain tolerance, and the nature of your job, you may be able to return to non-strenuous work and light normal activities after a few days.
After your surgery, Dr. Moses will apply a simple dressing to minimize swelling. Pain is minimal. You will have some bruising. Stitches used to close any incisions inside your mouth dissolve on their own within about 10 days.
What kind of results can I expect after facial implant surgery?
After you have fully healed, you should notice that your entire face looks more balanced and proportionate. While it can take several months for swelling to fully dissipate, patients are usually quite happy with their results long before this time.
