Brow Lifts in New Orleans
As we age, a sagging forehead with sleepy, drooping brows can make us look tired, older than our years, and can even interfere with vision. Sometimes patients just need their upper eyelids done, but some people need a brow lift.
When you come in for your consultation with Dr. Moses, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and goals to determine the best treatment plan for you. Forehead lifts (brow lifts) can be combined with other facial procedures, such as facelifts, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) or blepharoplasty (eyelid lifts). Together, the two of you will decide which procedures will help you achieve your desired results.

What happens during a brow lift?
For your safety and comfort, your forehead lift will be performed while you are under general anesthesia, typically as an outpatient. Brow lift surgery typically takes 1 to 1½ hours, depending on the severity of your concerns.
Based on the conversation you have during your consultation and the best technique for getting optimal results, Dr. Moses will either use the classic “open” method or the endoscopic method to lift your brows. Endoscopic procedures use two or three small incisions within the hair; open procedures leave a scar within the scalp or at the hairline, depending on your facial anatomy and your hairline.
Through these incisions, Dr. Moses will elevate the eyebrows and forehead to a more youthful position by separating the forehead skin from underlying tissues and muscle and lifting the brows higher on the forehead.
What is brow lift recovery like?
After your brow lift, Dr. Moses will wrap your forehead with a minimal dressing overnight to reduce bruising and swelling. He may place a thin tube to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin, which he will remove the next day. This helps minimize swelling and prompt optimal healing.
It’s normal to experience bruising for a week or two. There is typically very little pain, though we will send you home with prescription pain medication to alleviate any discomfort. Most of our patients are able to return to non-strenuous work within a few days, though many opt to wait a week when they will be able to camouflage any remaining bruising with makeup.
What kind of forehead lift results can I expect?
You’ll be able to see some positive changes immediately after your procedure. You’ll notice your eyes look more alert, deep creasing on the forehead has been minimized, and your entire face will look more youthful. As post-surgical swelling resides and incisions fade, your results will only look better!
With proper anti-aging skincare, daily SPF, and professional skin treatments to maintain skin quality, you will be able to enjoy your younger look for many years to come.
