Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty) New Orleans
Our eyes are truly the window to our soul. But we all reach a time when our eyes begin to show signs of aging. The upper eyelids droop, look saggy and hooded and sometimes obscure our vision. We get that tired, dark, puffiness under our lower lids that no amount of rest, makeup, or cucumber slices, can take care of.
When you become concerned about your aging eyelids, consider a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift). Blepharoplasty removes the excess eyelid skin and fat, and tightens the muscles around the eyelids. Your eyes will be brighter, making you look younger and rested. Eyelid surgery is the most natural-looking of all plastic surgery procedures.

What are the benefits of eyelid lift surgery?
Dr. Moses understands the importance of feeling confident in your appearance. Fortunately, eyelid surgery is the most natural-looking and most common of all the facial plastic surgery procedures. Wrinkles, puffiness, or sagging skin around your eyes will no longer make you look older than you are. After your eyes have been rejuvenated, you will feel and look like the younger you.
You won’t have to worry so much about concealing wrinkles or other imperfections with heavy make-up and facial products. You won’t have to worry about drooping skin impairing your vision, or how a smile makes you look older than you are. Eyelid surgery is usually only necessary once—the results last for a very long time.
Blepharoplasty is often performed together with other facial surgeries. During your consultation with Dr. Moses, the two of you will decide which procedures you want in order to get you where you want to be.
What happens during eyelid surgery?
Eyelid surgery can be performed while you are under local or general anesthesia in our accredited outpatient surgical centers at Hedgewood. Upper and lower eyelid surgery takes Dr. Moses 1½ to 2 hours. For upper eyelids, Dr. Moses makes incisions within the natural fold of your upper eyelid, completely hiding the scar when your eyes are open. For lower eyelids, Dr. Moses usually conceals the incision just below your lower lashes. Through this incision, he removes excess skin, muscle, and fat, and he tightens the lower lid.
What is eyelid surgery recovery like?
Typically, there is about no pain after eyelid surgery. Your stitches will be removed five days to a week after your procedure. You will be bruised from a few days to a couple of weeks. You will feel good quickly and will recover fully in just a few weeks. Immediately following surgery, Dr. Moses will apply Steri-Strips over the incisions. They are removed in 5 to 7 days with the stitches, and then you can use makeup. Following surgery, you should keep your head elevated and apply ice for several days. Usually, people feel comfortable in public after a week or two. Activities such as reading and watching television can be done after just two or three days. There is little pain associated with this procedure. Your eyes just need time to heal and for the bruising to go away.
