New Orleans Plastic Surgeon Dr. Moses
Michael Moses, MD, FACS, has been practicing the art and science of plastic surgery for almost 20 years. Dr. Moses wants each patient to be happy with his or her appearance. He strives to achieve a natural look that compliments each patient's features as well as their personality. Dr. Moses wants to hear about what they want and don't want, and their own priorities and goals.
Dr. Moses wants his patients to feel comfortable with him, his office, and the staff. Your first consultation will take about an hour, so he can get to know you and listen to your goals. For cosmetic surgery, all patients will see us for at least one additional visit before surgery. Our supportive staff will always be available to you throughout your visits before and after surgery to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
A native of New Orleans, Dr. Moses earned his undergraduate degree at Yale College, then went on to medical school at Tulane University. He returned to Yale for his general surgery residency, then to a plastic surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He did a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at The Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He held faculty appointments in the Departments of Surgery at both Yale and Harvard.
From his mentor, Harvard surgeon Dr. John Constable, Dr. Moses learned the value of sharing his knowledge in plastic surgery with colleagues around the world. Dr. Moses has traveled to Honduras, Nicaragua, and Vietnam to teach plastic surgeons in those countries modern techniques. He strongly subscribes to "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, feed him for life."
Currently, Dr. Moses is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Touro Infirmary, the Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial team at Children's Hospital, and on the faculty of Tulane and LSU Schools of Medicine.
Dr. Moses is also an avid art collector, specializing in New Orleans artists. He loves to discuss his art collection with patients and friends. In his spare time, Dr. Moses also enjoys golf, fly fishing, and spending time with his two sons, Nicholas and Pierre.
